Sommelier — Birdsong (SOMA)

Join the dining room team at Birdsong, led by Chef Chris Bleidorn. Birdsong is a two Michelin–starred restaurant in San Francisco, focused on American heritage cuisine . We are seeking a Sommelier to join our team in a key supporting role to our Beverage Director, helping maintain and grow our wine program.

We’re looking for a thoughtful, service-driven wine professional - someone who can execute pairings with consistency, support the floor, and help strengthen wine knowledge across the team.

Requirements

• Keen interest in being part of an ever-evolving restaurant and building upon a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence wine list

• Ability to support and execute wine pairings for our tasting menu, in collaboration with our Beverage Director

• 1-2+ years of fine dining wine experience (experience supporting or helping manage a program preferred)

• Calm, team-focused communication and strong attention to detail during service

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Beverage Director with day-to-day wine service and program execution

• Running beverage service on the floor, including guiding guests through pairings and BTG and bottle selections

• Assisting with organization and maintenance of the cellar and inventory systems (as needed)

• Helping uphold standards of hospitality and beverage service across the dining room
