The Senior Principal, Organizational Development (OD) will report to the Senior Director, Organizational Development, Operate & Enable. This individual will partner closely with senior leadership teams, senior Business HR (BHR) Partners, HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), People Solutions, OD leadership team, and OD Practices Team. In addition, there will be collaboration with external consulting partners and benchmarking networks (for market insight and best practices).
The Senior Principal, Organizational Development leads critical operating model and organizational effectiveness initiatives in Nike’s Operate & Enable functions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior BHR Partners and business leaders, independently driving complex system design, org assessment, culture activation, and large-scale transformation. This ideal individual will bring deep OD expertise, strong consulting capability, and market insight — particularly in global shared services, or capability-building transformations — to shape Nike’s future-state organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Leadership/Organizational Development or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
10–15+ years of OD or transformation consulting experience, with proven success leading global operating model work.
Deep expertise in org transformation, shared services, capability centers, and service‑delivery model design including governance, roles, and decision rights.
Strong stakeholder management and influence skills across complex, matrixed organizations.
Advanced consulting capabilities in strategic alignment, org diagnostics, system design, facilitation, conflict navigation, and executive communication.
Experience scaling transformation across geographies and markets, bringing strong business acumen and systems thinking.
In this role, you will lead some of the most critical operating model and organizational effectiveness work across Nike’s Operate & Enable functions. You’ll diagnose challenges, design future‑state models, and guide senior leaders through high‑stakes decisions that shape how teams operate and deliver. You’ll influence enterprise‑wide initiatives, strengthen alignment across Geos and functions, and build the OD capability of HR and business leaders. Your work will drive clarity, accelerate transformation, and elevate how teams collaborate and perform.
Strategic Initiatives (Project-Based Leadership)
Lead the assessment, design (structural + non‑structural), and delivery of high-priority OD initiatives in Operate & Enable functions.
Drive the scoping of operating model initiatives, offering options and clear recommendations on interventions, capabilities required, and pacing.
Represent OD in related enterprise initiatives, ensuring alignment across functions, Geos, and Brands and surfacing dependencies and implications.
Provide subject-matter expertise on large-scale transformation, service delivery model evolution, and capability-based organization design.
Lead design workstreams, governance routines, and senior leader decision-making processes.
Business Partner Consultant
Maintain integrity of the Nike operating model and guide leaders on significant org changes (e.g., structure, accountabilities, management processes).
Monitor organizational health using diagnostic tools and partner with HR and business leaders to identify improvements.
Partner with BHR on team effectiveness and culture interventions for leadership teams.
Build OD capability across HRBPs, People Solutions, and senior leaders through training, coaching, and partnership.
Shape and share the transformation portfolio for your Geo/function and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
