Remote CPA – Tax Specialist (1040 Focus)

Location: Fully Remote

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire / Long-Term Permanent

Start Date: June 2026

Pay Rate: $50+/hour (based on experience)

*Salary: $104,000+

Equipment: Company-provided computer

Degree: Bachelor’s Degree

• An active CPA certification is required for this role

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CPA — a

true “tax assassin” — who thrives in a fast-paced, independent work

environment. This role is ideal for a professional who is accurate, efficient,

and confident in preparing individual tax returns (1040s) with minimal

supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040)
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state tax regulations
• Manage multiple returns efficiently while meeting deadlines
• Work independently with minimal oversight
• Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail
• Collaborate with internal teams as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA designation
• 3+ years of tax preparation experience
• Strong experience preparing 1040 returns
• Proven ability to work independently and efficiently
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CCH tax software (highly preferred)
• Experience with LaCerte tax software (plus)

Work Environment & Schedule

• Fully remote position
• Standard business hours (Monday–Friday) Eastern Standard Time

This is a Permanent position based out of Bloomfield Hills, MI.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
