Shift/Schedule:
Night Shift | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM Monday–Thursday (some weeks Monday–Wednesday)
Flexibility to work additional days, overtime, or adjusted hours as business needs require.

Training Schedule:
During the first 4–5 months (site start-up phase), training will occur on day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.


As a Quality Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting quality and innovation at KDP’s highly technical Alta-Rounds coffee manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, SC. You will partner closely with Quality, R&D, Operations, and Maintenance teams to ensure product integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

This role represents the Quality function on-site and supports manufacturing operations by driving food safety, quality standards, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead quality testing (moisture, viscosity, particle size, dimensions, conductivity, hardness, weight, seal integrity, etc.)

  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Operations, and Maintenance teams

  • Support R&D development trials and innovation initiatives

  • Execute operational plans and Daily Management Systems (DMS)

  • Support new equipment startups and product qualifications

  • Assist with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Participate in Kaizen and site improvement activities

  • Support daily production to achieve safety, quality, cost, and productivity targets

  • Lead and support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes and A3 problem-solving initiatives

  • Provide daily quality dispositions and resolutions for production issues

  • Develop tools to collect, trend, and analyze quality data

  • Prepare reports and communicate results to site leadership and senior management

  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

  • Ensure adherence to food safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Total Rewards:

  • Targeted annual compensation range of $75,000–$85,000.
  • This is a salaried, exempt position paid biweekly. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Chemistry, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 1–3+ years of experience in a technical or quality-focused manufacturing environment

  • Experience leading or influencing technical teams preferred

  • Strong understanding of quality systems, KPI management, dashboards, and scorecards

  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
