The Preschool Aide supports the mission of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Josephville by providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for preschool-aged children. This individual assists with the supervision, care, and enrichment of students in alignment with Catholic values and early childhood best practices.
Supervise and engage preschool students during extended care hours (before/after school).
Support a Christ-centered atmosphere through words, actions, and modeling of Catholic values.
Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, including play, crafts, snacks, and rest time.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in accordance with school and state guidelines.
Monitor and support students’ emotional, social, and physical development.
Communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, and staff.
Follow all school policies, procedures, and health/safety protocols.
Support classroom teachers and staff as needed.
Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or school setting.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.
Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass background check and meet diocesan safe environment requirements.
