Position Overview

Ganahl Lumber Escondido is seeking dependable Local Delivery Drivers (Class B or Class C) to deliver lumber and building materials to customer job sites and company locations throughout the local area.
This is a full-time, year-round position with predictable construction-industry schedules, automatic transmission trucks, and no overnight routes. Drivers return home daily and play a key role representing Ganahl’s commitment to safety and customer service.

Compensation & Schedule

  • $24.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience and license class)
  • Overtime is available where applicable
  • Early-morning dispatch typical of construction delivery routes

Primary Responsibilities
  • Deliver lumber, building materials, and related products to customer job sites
  • Operate flatbed, stake-bed, or delivery trucks safely and professionally
  • Secure loads using straps, chains, binders, tarps, or covers as required
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Verify delivery paperwork and obtain required customer confirmations
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors using company systems
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies
  • Assist with unloading when required (many deliveries utilize forklift, boom, or roll-off methods)
  • Maintain professional customer interaction at all times
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Class B or Class C California Driver’s License (commercial where required)
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record meeting company safety standards
  • Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and transport materials
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong commitment to safe driving and job-site awareness
Preferred Experience
  • Delivery experience in building materials, lumber, construction supply, or local route delivery
  • Experience operating flatbed trucks or stake-bed delivery vehicles
  • Familiarity with load securement for construction materials
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to approximately 75 pounds when required
  • Ability to secure cargo and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to safely perform all duties in compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety regulations
Employment Requirements
  • Must successfully pass required drug screening and physical examination where applicable
  • Background check and motor vehicle record review required
  • Must maintain a valid license and safe driving record throughout employment
