Floor Manager

About the Role

Bibliotheque is seeking a Floor Manager to lead evening service and serve as a steady presence on the floor each night. All shifts for this position take place in the evening and focus on guiding service from start to finish.

This is a hands-on, service-driven role centered on hospitality, consistency, and accountability. You’ll work closely with the Director of Operations to uphold standards, support the team in real time, and ensure the space is thoughtfully managed through the final guest of the night.

Responsibilities

Lead Evening Service

• Maintain an active presence on the floor throughout service
• Ensure service standards are followed consistently across the café, wine bar, and bookstore
• Set the tone for professionalism, pacing, and guest engagement

Support & Develop the Team

• Coach and guide staff during service with clarity and approachability
• Reinforce expectations and maintain accountability in a constructive way
• Serve as the primary point of decision-making during evening shifts

Guest Experience

• Act as a point of contact for guests throughout service
• Handle feedback and resolve issues with warmth and confidence

End-of-Night Oversight

• Guide the team through end-of-service procedures
• Ensure all side work, cash handling, organization, and resets are completed properly
• Leave the space clean, organized, and prepared for the following day
• Communicate clearly with management regarding service notes and operational updates

Operations & Events

• Monitor inventory needs during service and communicate accordingly
• Support events and special programming as needed

Growth Over Time

Once you’re comfortable leading service and aligned with our systems, there will be opportunities to expand your responsibilities beyond the floor. This may include supporting scheduling, assisting with hiring and onboarding, and gaining exposure to administrative and operational planning.

Wine knowledge is a plus, and this is a space where your understanding of wine can continue to grow through hands-on service and collaboration with our beverage team.

About You

• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant management
• Comfortable owning evening service and leading with confidence
• Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
• Clear communicator with strong guest-facing instincts
• Organized, dependable, and steady under pressure
• Able to manage multiple concepts in a fast-paced environment
