Job Description

Connect Staffing is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Repair Center to diagnose and repair solar inverters and related electrical equipment at a solar equipment repair center in Houston, TX . The position involves board-level component replacement, high-voltage circuit testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve product reliability.

Pay: $25-$45/hr

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Location:  Hybrid – Houston, TX (up to 50% travel may be required)

Job Type:  Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment:  Manufacturing Plant / Factory

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with circuit boards, power electronics, or related electrical systems.
  • Experience repairing solar inverters and electrical devices, including board-level component replacement, following established engineering and repair standards.
  • Hands-on experience with solar inverters, circuit boards, power electronics, or related electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with test and measurement tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and torque wrenches.
  • Basic computer literacy for logging repairs, data analysis, and following digital work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical equipment repair or power electronics troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with solar inverters, renewable energy systems, or power conversion equipment.
  • Experience with board-level component replacement and soldering techniques.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage safety protocols and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to document and analyze repair data to support process improvements.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, repair center, or technical service environment.

Responsibilities

  • The Electrical Engineer will perform comprehensive repair and diagnostic work on solar inverters and electrical devices:
  • Diagnose device issues independently using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, and propose corrective solutions
  • Replace board-level components on solar inverters according to engineering and repair standards
  • Conduct testing of repaired equipment, including handling of high-voltage circuits, with comprehensive safety training
  • Document and analyze repair data to support process improvements and reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, service, and training, to improve product reliability
  • Contribute to the development of repair procedures and training materials based on field and repair center experience
  • Maintain compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, Safety) standards in all repair activities

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English; bilingual English/Mandarin preferred but not required
