At Toro Kitchen & Bar, a modern Spanish restaurant, our bartenders are the storytellers behind the bar—shaking, stirring, and serving with precision and personality. You’ll craft both classic cocktails and house specialties, guide guests through our Spanish wine list, and pair drinks to elevate every dish. With your knowledge, charm, and speed, you’ll create memorable experiences that keep guests coming back.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages with accuracy and flair.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on our cocktail menu, Spanish wines, and whiskey selection.
• Deliver exceptional service at the bar and for seated guests, maintaining a welcoming, energetic atmosphere.
• Handle bar setup and breakdown during opening and closing shifts.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and full stock of all ingredients, glassware, and tools.
• Create garnishes, batch cocktails, and prep ingredients ahead of service.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow TABC guidelines for responsible service.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Assist with private events, whiskey tastings, and seasonal drink menu rollouts.
• Collaborate with barbacks and servers to ensure smooth service flow.

Skills

• 2+ years bartending experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant/bar preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and wine—especially Spanish varietals and whiskey.
• Confident, engaging communication style and genuine hospitality.
• Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure without losing your cool.
• Physically fit — able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Availability for weekends, late nights, and special events.
• TABC and Food Handler certifications (or ability to obtain).

Job Settings

• Primarily evening and weekend shifts.
• Must be available for holidays, whiskey events, and private functions.
