Job Title: Field Engineer

Job Description

The Field Engineer will work on-site at natural gas compressor station projects, ensuring that natural gas remains pressurized as it travels through pipelines. These industrial plants require gas compression using turbines, motors, or engines. The role involves working across various disciplines, including civil, mechanical, and electrical, and involves significant piping work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing smaller projects.
  • Understand terms, conditions, and scope of contracts.
  • Track materials, production, and project costs for review and approval.
  • Facilitate subcontractor activities.
  • Maintain project schedules.
  • Conduct basic estimating, take-offs, and solicitation of quotes.
  • Provide onsite administrative support.
  • Assist with quality assurance, quality control, and test protocols.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or similar role in Heavy Industrial or Power Plant projects.
  • Experience with document control, including tracking and organizing project documents.
  • Experience managing drawing revisions and redlines.
  • Ability to oversee subcontractors in electrical, mechanical, civil, or process piping disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using project management software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work away from home on project sites for extended periods, with rotations home every 4-6 weeks.
  • Willingness to work the person and weekends as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment involves supporting a large, multi-discipline industrial pipeline facility construction project, with expansion and upgrades to existing plants. The project spans a 20-acre lot, including civil work, generators, and 30 miles of pipeline. The role requires working on-site 6 days a week, 10 hours a day, with trips home provided monthly or bi-monthly. Projects are mainly located in the Midwest, with durations of 6-12 months. New Engineers receive strong training, partnering with a Senior Project Manager and team, starting with smaller tasks before taking on entire projects. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
