How many shifts needed per month: Full-time coverage (Monday Friday) with additional on-call rotation coverage (exact monthly count not explicitly defined; continuous coverage required)
License: Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
Certifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Experience needed: Typically 2 3+ years of recent clinical experience in anesthesiology
Special Skills needed:
Administration of anesthesia for surgical procedures
Pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluation
Airway management and critical care skills
Ability to respond to emergency situations
Proficiency in using anesthesia equipment and monitoring systems
Strong communication and coordination with surgical teams
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive anesthesiology services to eligible patients
Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop anesthesia care plans
Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical and procedural cases
Manage patient recovery and post-anesthesia care
Participate in on-call coverage, including nights and weekends
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Comply with facility medical staff bylaws, policies, and procedures
Ensure adherence to all clinical, safety, and regulatory standards
Misc:
Physician must be available for both scheduled and on-call coverage
Must meet all VA credentialing and privileging requirements
